I had the life I'd worked so hard for. So why couldn't I relax?
I remember sitting on a sun lounger in our garden in Mallorca.
My daughter was at school. Our pets were nearby. I could hear the birds.
We had moved countries twice in 18 months. There had been homes to find, schools to arrange and a whole family life to rebuild, with four dogs and two cats along for the journey.
And even though I was finally sitting in that beautiful garden, my mind was somewhere else.
The vet. School. The house. Appointments. Things to research. Things I couldn't afford to forget.
I had become so used to keeping everything mentally open that I didn't know how to switch off.
Writing things down helped, but it wasn't enough. I could put everything on paper and still feel responsible for all of it.
What began to change things was learning to ask different questions.
Did this really need to happen now? Did it need to be done by me? Could someone else take full ownership? Could something simply wait?
And could I finally recognise what I'd already done instead of only seeing what was left?
That experience became the foundation of the DROP Method.
